Teaser and poster of Raj Ballav Koirala’s 'Raghav' released

A teaser and the poster of the debut movie of actor Raj Ballav Koirala as a producer – ‘Raghav’ is released today. The movie is made under the banner of Raj Ballav Koirala Films in association with Ideas and Images, and Planet3films.

‘Raghav’ features Shibir Pokharel, Asmita Dhakal, Cait Barsel, Ashishma Nakarmi, Rocken Byanjankar etc. in main role. The story, screenplay and the direction of the movie is done by Bhupendra Bhattarai.

‘Raghav’ is expected to release in theater in March of 2014.

'Salgi' is a feature film presented by Rang Films and TV Creation, produced by Sudarshan Shrestha and directed by Badri Adhikari. The film is based on the popular story 'Salgi Ko Balaatkrit Aansu' written by the renowned Nepali writer Parijat famous for her novel Sirish ko Phool (Blue Mimosa). The story tells a harrowing tale of how innocent Nepali village girls are lured of a luxurious city life and sold to the brothels of India and the sufferings they undergo thereafter. This film has already received four awards for Best Film, Best Director, Best Story and Best Script in the TAFON-MEDIA HUB Tele Awards 2067/2010.

The first look of the debut movie of director Samjhana Upreti Rauniar featuring Namrata Shrestha in lead role is released in internet. The 19 second long video promo of the movie only shows Namrata in a mirror as the central character.

The movie is produced by a well known photographer, Bikas Rauniar – the husband of the director. The movie features Namrata with Raymondas Shrestha, Bhintuna Joshi and Siddhartha Koirala in main roles. The movie features the cinematography of Ramsharan Upreti  and music of Gopal Yonjan.

Censor board responds to media pressure, Dhuwani awarded PG certificate (Watch Official Trailer HD)

After the pressure from the media, the Censor Board was forced to change it’s decision on censor certificate to the movie ‘Dhuwani’.  The censor board had objected to a dialogue in the movie citing the dialogue to create problem with the neighboring countries. Now, the Board has allowed the movie to be screened in theaters with PG certificate. The certificate allows children to watch the movie with adults.

After this incident, it is proved that the Board doesn’t have a clear guideline on censoring movies and they act on personal preferences and intuition. This is not the first time such incident had happened. The movie banned by the Board, ‘ATM‘ was released on July 26 without change after the court found it suitable for the public. With these problems, the Board doesn’t hold any credibility to censor movies.

  

‘Dhuwani’ is releasing on Bhadra 28 and is made on the story of human trafficking in Nepal. A NGO working on the human trafficking, Maiti Nepal, has purchase the rights in Nepal to use the movie in creating awareness of human trafficking in all over Nepal. The movie is directed by Pitambar Pandey and is produced by Kabita Shrestha. The movie features Kishor Khatiwada, Prabin Khatiwada, Dhirenraj Thapa, Anuja Gayak, Sagun Shahi etc. in main roles.
